. Our name Fright Planet "World of Fear" is a play on words since we bring our guests the fear each year with a world of new scares.
. The company behind the terror at Fright Planet "World of Fear" is Hangman's Follow Dark Amusements.
. We have guests from all ages come to Fright Planet. Families are more than welcome, but keep in mind that we do offer real scares. Children 13 years of age and younger must be accompied by an adult.
. There will be 5 massive haunted houses in 2011:
1. Pirates
2. Pirates in 3-D
3. Physcho Midway in 4-D
4. Death Row
5. Blackout
. Additional Attractions:
1. ScreamMax 3-D Movie Theater
. Each haunted house attraction is about 5,000 sq. feet.
. Total time to go through all 5 attractions: About an hour.
. Total time to go see and do everything: A couple of hours to all night.
. Total number of cast members per season: 150
. Our cast members have to go through a formal audition process and are then selected for the various roles they play (acting, scares only, etc).
. All cast members attend "Scare School" before they even step foot into a haunted house.
. Even though our ticket prices have never gone up since 2007, we still added a huge amount of value each and every year. For the past three-years, we have added one or two more haunted house attractions per season.
. We start setting up August 15th but the planning process is all year long.
. Our set painter is a retired Disneyland artist.
History
- . The first Hangman's Follow Dark Amusements' haunted house opened in 1991 through 1997 in American Canyon, CA and was simply called the "Hangman's Follow Haunted House."
. After being closed for seven years, it reopened in 2004 as a newly revamped attraction at Westfield Solano in Fairfield, CA and was called "The Dead End Haunted House."
. In 2005, a colaboration of ideas joined together into what we know today as Fright Planet "World of Fear."
. Since it's debute in 2004, Fright Planet has attracted the attention of local and national media outlets and haunted industry leaders.
. Fright Planet now calls Cal Expo (the state fair complex of California) home. It has taken over the former Paradise Island Theme Park. Instead of building and removing each year, Fright Planet is now able to keep expanding each year and adding to the scares!
